I have been thinking a lot about the future lately…how I want to be a police officer and how hard I will have to work for that. It seems scary, but I know I am up to whatever the challenges may bring. I cannot wait to bring justice to the people who deserve it!!!
Family, they’re always there. They are there when you feel like crying and don’t know why. They are there when you need support when you have a big game or test the next day and your hands are shaking because you are so nervous. They are there, until they’re not. It feels like time is slipping through your fingers and you want it back, but you can’t. You wish you could’ve had one more moment with that person, asking them questions you’ve wondered all of your life, and you’ve wondered deeply about their past experiences or childhood, and now you can never look into their eyes and truly know what their answer would be. You need to cherish every moment with your family, because you never know when it will be to late. You think you have your whole life to figure things out, but truly, it goes by in the blink of an eye and you look back regretting what you didn’t do. I have had experiences like this, thinking I had my whole life to be with one person, and learn every detail about them, but in the end, I learn about them from someone else, wishing I was hearing it from them. These moments are sad, not knowing if you will ever see someones face again. Like my Aunt that lives in California, she has cancer and I worry every day about her, never knowing if I may get to see her smile ever again. It is the same with my close family, I push them away thinking they are going to be there forever, but they will be gone before I will even know it. I get so angry at them and I think I will be able to apologize the next day, but you wake up and circumstances change and you would do anything to go back and not say what you said, to take it back and start over. Things happen and people change, but your family will be there for you always. So don’t push them away, because you never know when you might not be able to see their face again, to talk to them and learn more, so embrace your family like there’s no tomorrow, because there may not be.
One of my heroes is my great Aunt Georgie, who lives in California and is suffering from cancer. Every time I think of her it brings a smile to my face, because she is one of the funniest, loudest, toughest people I have ever met. She has gone through more than most people would in their whole lives, from her rebellious past to her cancer she has had for a while now. Although she never complains, she is happy to be alive and I respect her deeply for that, I don’t know many people who can wake up with a smile on their face and be happy to live when they have cancer. She lives every moment like it’s her last, and I wish I had half the courage she did.
Every time we go to visit I don’t want to leave, she has a cute little home that just bursts out with love, once you walk in you realize that she values life more than others, because now she knows what it is worth. Every smile she puts on radiates to others and you can’t help but smile too. We sit by the pool while she puts her feet in and she talks to my Mom and Grandma, and I look up and smile because she has taught me more than she can even realize about life, the way to live it, and to love others unconditionally, just like she has done with me. Every day I think about her and miss her, beg my Mom to go visit, I pray for her every night, for her health and wellness, and I know she is loved by many. I can’t wait until can see her again, experience joy and happiness with her, and know that she will keep living, no matter what life throws at her, that she will take it and use it to make her stronger.
Polar bears are going extinct, as you already know. We have a chance to save them if we just try. If we put them back into the wild, then they have a chance to repopulate, which in turn will give the earth more polar bears. This would be a great thing to happen to our earth, it would make the planet a better place with more animals to enjoy. Global warming is a major cause of the extinction of polar bears. If we use the three R’s it can potentially save their lives. I believe that the polar bears aren’t happy at all in the zoo, if we let them in the wild they will be happier with more freedom and bigger spaces to enjoy. They will be able to hunt for their own food and live to their full potential as wild animals on this earth. We need to start caring about these poor animals who have led lives of misery, when they could be living like the other wild animals. They seem to get the short end of the stick by having to see life through glass, living so other people can stare at them in awe. We see them at the zoo or in captivity and care for them for a moment, but then get wrapped up in our own lives again and loose interest. It is very sad and I am going to take my part in helping save a life of a poor animal today.
The color blue brings many thoughts to mind. One being the ocean, which I could sit and stare at all day if nobody would stop me. The waves tumbling over one another in a curling fashion, the way it draws your attention like no other thing can. Or a bird flying high in the sky singing its sounds of joy and happiness, letting no one bring it down to the worries of today. The way it can just soar through the blue open sky…not hearing a word it doesn’t want to. The color blue brings happiness to my mind and fills my heart with ease, knowing everything is going to be okay, even if it might not be at the moment. The color blue always brings the first day of summer to mind, no school and playing in the water all day with no worries or cares.
Unfortunatly, I was not able to participate in earth hour due to the fact that I was watching the civil war baseball game at the time. It was an amazing game where the Ducks beat the Beavers three to two. I do love the idea of the earth hour though, little changes like these will highly impact the earth and save a lot of energy. If we did this more often, then we will be potentially saving the earth from global warming. I highly support the three R’s as well: Reduce, reuse and recycle. These things may seem little and non-important, but if we would all do them we will make a huge difference. So take part in earth day!!!!
